In addition to an optimized website, an effective SEO strategy also involves a strong local presence, a mobile-friendly site, and a good user experience.

If you have a website and you want to drive more traffic to it, SEO is the way to go. In today’s digital world, you need to have a strong online presence if you want to compete with other businesses. SEO provides an amazing opportunity for local businesses when it comes to search. 2. What are organic results?

There are two types of search results: organic and paid. Organic results are the ones that appear in search engines, for free, based on an algorithm. Paid search results are links that advertisers pay to appear on search engines and they appear on the top or side of a results page.

3. How are websites ranked?

    Content Quality: Factors such as how often new content is published, the length and quality of the content, and whether the content is original affect your site’s ranking.
  • Domain Age: A domain less than six months old is considered a new site and deemed less trustworthy than an older domain. New sites can still be ranked, but the rankings typically increase after a site has been around for more than six months.
  • Keyword Competition: Keywords that are searched more frequently are very competitive and sites that have been around longer having a head start on ranking for those keywords.
  • Clean Domain: Search engine algorithms have become more advanced and can find out when websites do black hat SEO practices like buying inbound links or keyword stuffing. If search engines find your domain doing these tactics, your site can and will be penalized.

4. How long does it take to rank?

The SEO process is complex and there are certain factors that can affect how quickly you will see results. It depends on how much content you create, the content’s quality and how it resonates with your audience, your site’s size, the domain authority, and many other factors. Larger sites can see results more quickly if a search engine crawls their site regularly, while smaller sites typically take longer. The average time it takes to see SEO results is about 6 to 12 months.

5. What do “crawling” and “indexed” mean?

When they crawl your site, they index content that will appear in the search engines. Not all content is indexed: as search engines crawl your site, they pick what content they will and won’t index.
